VideoLAN is not in any way associated with advertising. Well there are  
some sponsors, which have a banner on the sponsors page, but that is 
all.
This is an opensource software project, with a lot of ppl spending 
their (spare) time on it. In no parallel universe or this one would we 
ever be part of something like http://www.gator.com
