This is C++ code, there is a compiler difference between rh-7.3 and rh-8.0
(See the glibc.spec file with rh-8.0 for details).

I am pretty sure you are going to need three rpms :-> rh-7.3, rh-8.0 and 
rh-9.0 just to cover the compiler and library variations.

rh-7.1 (which I am running) comes with XFree86-4.0 - but can be upgraded
independantly to XFree86-4.1 successfully (to get Xvideo support).
You might consider down-grading the XFree86 in your rh-7.3 partition to
XFree86-4.1 before you build the rh-7.x rpms.
