[vlc] De-interlace in Mozilla plugin?

I've figured out why my video always looks like crap ;)

If I use the "none" type of de-interlacing in the X11 client, I get
horizontal pixellation in my video, which gets worse (boxier and boxier)
the smaller I make the window. If I use some other type (e.g. "discard")
it's great.

My main application uses the Mozilla plugin; and it's pixellated as heck.

What would it take to get de-interlaceing put into the browser plugin?
If somebody (cough, Sam, cough) knows how to do this but hasn't the time
MAYBE I can find a C hacker to do it for me...

Anybody?
