[vlc] No video with vlc-0.7.0_test1 for Linux

Hi,

I installed VLC version 0.7.0_test1 on a RedHat Linux 9.0 and on a WinXP 
machine.
I am able to stream from Linux to windows, and play a local file in Windows.
But when I try to play from a local file in Linux, I don't get a video 
displayed.
In version 0.6.2 it worked fine.

Any clue what I missed in the Linux configuration, in order to have video 
displayed?
