[vlc] VLS Question.

my  cmomputer
hardware CPU: celeron 433
operating system : linux redhat 8.0(kernel 2.4.18)

 
version useing: vls-0.5.3 ,vlc-0.5.3

Can I play the following media type of movie.
For instance: DVD or mpeg(my vlc in host can play *.vob and *.mpeg)

Question:
 
1.Is there any VLS server established for me trying (improtant)
2.what is the VLS user interface(ex. web or text) 
3.where is the vls.log file located after installation of the VLS 
4.What steps I need to do or the file named "vls.cfg" should be configured to make VLC can connect to VLS successfully.
