[vlc] Xine cannot play MPEG2-PS files created with VLC streaming

I have asked this on the xine list, and even provided a sample file to the list and
I have not gotten a response. I am hoping that someone out there on the VLC list
can help.

Here is my setup - I am streaming a DVD from VLS 0.5.3 on one machine to VideoLAN
Client 0.6.0 on another - VLC is configured to stream to an MPEG2 PS file, rather
than play the stream. Once I stop VLC and attempt to play the resulting file with
xine, xine either cannot play the file at all or pauses for several minutes before
playing it. Mplayer on the other hand, plays the file fine.

Is there something that VLC does to make its files non standard in some way? I have
been told that by a xine developer on another issue that Videolan doesn't follow the
standards completely with regards to TS over udp. Could the same be true for its
MPEG2 PS generation?

Please help - I would like to use xine to playback these files reliably because of
its superior DXR3/TV output support.

A sample stream is available via anonymous ftp from ftp.rtwnetwork.com, and its
called test8.mpg, its about 15MB long.

Thanks,

Rett Walters

System Specs - xine-lib-1-beta12,ui-0.9.21,RH8.0 with custom kernel 2.4.20, 512MB
RAM, P3 850.
