[vlc] problem in installing vlc-0.5.3.tar.gz file

hello all,
   I am facing problem in compiling the vlc-0.5.3.tar.gz.
After extracting with tar xvzf vlc-0.5.3.tar.gz.
then ./configure
then while "make" I am getting this prolem.
gcc: Internal error: Terminated (program cc1)
Please submit a full bug report.
