I just tried the same experiment with V.0.6.0-test2 and with this version I
get no video or audio streamed (the file plays fine locally). A step
backward?

Subject: [vlc] .wmv sound on streaming and vlc Windows crash
I recently posted a question ((no response was ever posted) regarding
the absence of sound on a Linux RH8 system when receiving a stream of a .wmv
file from a Windows system running 0.5.3. I just ran this test again with
"vlc -vvv" on the RH system (output attached). As you will see in the log,
I ran the stream twice, however I found that after running it once, if I
clicked play, vlc died abruptly (under Windows). I had to restart vlc to
play it the second time. Two problems: no sound on the .wmv stream and vlc
crashes when I try to play the file a second time.
