Hi!

I experience some problems with VLC 0.5.3 on Mac OS X. VLC simply
doesn't start. I've tried running it by double-clicking the icon and
by starting from the shell. When started by a double-click the icon
bounces
up and down for a while and then it just stops in the middle of a jump.
i can't 'quit' it then anymore but have to 'kill' it from a shell.

in the console i see the following:

----- console output starts here ------------
VideoLAN Client 0.5.3 Natalya
May 1 18:16:16 TheBeach WindowServer[213]: Reserved range exhausted.
(0xbbdf4000 to 0xbc2ed000 goes out of bounds)

May 1 18:18:47 TheBeach WindowServer[213]: Reserved range exhausted.
(0xbbdf4000 to 0xbc265000 goes out of bounds)

May 1 18:20:47 TheBeach WindowServer[213]: Reserved range exhausted.
(0xbbdf4000 to 0xbc17b000 goes out of bounds)

----- console output ends here ------------

as long as VLC 'runs' i see these messages every few minutes in the
console log window.

my setup is:
powerbook 17", 1gb memory, mac os 10.2.5

i would appreciate any help.

merci!
