[vlc] not sound using Mac OS X (Panther)

I'm using vlc 0.6.2. I have no problems with dvds, my problem is with 
the vcd files where I only can see the video, but I don't get any sound 
out of it .

Please, let me know how can I fix this problem. Thanks
