Both VLC and the minerva encoders you are using are SAP aware so you can use that to build a channels list on the vlc client

Subject: [vlc] How to or Wish List

Kind People,

In support of a corporate user I am seeking instruction in how to configure VLC. I am using VLC in a Windows (XP, 2000, NT) and IE environment.

I have 6 Minerva encoders providing multicasts of broadcasts channels to a corporate LAN. Additionally there are special broadcasts using additional encoders that are to be multicast.

In accessing these streams I would like to do the following:

1. Provide icons of the six broadcast multicasts that users may click to change channels. If this could be done via the win32 interface it would be preferable but IE based is ok. Guidance is greatly appreciated.
2. For the special broadcasts: Is there a way to send a link via HTML e-mail to users that should see the multicast and have it start VLC and access and play the stream?

Thanks,

GB
