Hi to all !

Well, I'm a happy VLC user, and I often install it at work or on friends
computers. (no need to say mainly msWindows...)
I also include VLC in a CD for Windows Stations for the french speaking
Free-EOS project (a very easy GNU/Linux server, and this Cd for the
stations. see http://sourceforge.net/projects/free-eos/ or
http://free-eos.org/).

Everytime I must change the file associations by hand, which is quite
boring ;o)
And I don't support anymore WindowsMediaPlayer lauching even if I play
with some associations :o)

What do you think about propose (at install or in the software, I think
that for portability it should be in Windows insaller as it's windows
specific) to make VLC defaut player for most used file types ?

Have a look at OpenOffice or 7-Zip under windows : they propose with check
boxes to be the default application for this or this file (.doc or .tar ...)

This way, we could have a complete working videostation with VLC.

You see, often my friends simply clic on the video file, and don't think
about launching first VLC (in case it's a file associated with WMP or
other bullshit.)

I see for example propose the choice to be default player for :
.mpeg
.mpg
.divx
.xvid
.avi
.ogm
DVD default player (as winDVD do for example), that is launch VLC as soon
as the DVD is in the drive.
...

So, could you tell me what you think about this ?

Thanks,
Keep have fun in coding this masterpiece !
