[vlc] no suitable decoder module

Hi every boddy

I tried to read a divx and i get the following
error
[00000145] main interface error: option frequency does not exist
[00000145] main interface error: option symbol-rate does not exist
[00000147] main input: playlist item 
file:///usr/home/romain/mesdoc/Matrix.avi' [00000149] main decoder 
error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `XVID'.

Is it a not yet supported format, or can I find a specific module
