I have tried to use a Firewire DV signal with vlc (latest version) under
    windows xp.

I have set directshow video source to Microsoft DV Camera and VCR and
Directshow audio source to my local sound card device using the
streaming
    wizard.

I have tried several streaming methods:

    Udp multicast
    View locally and
    File output

I have set the encapsulation method to mpeg ts and checked the image
codec
    option with selection mp4v and
Audio codec with the option mpga

Using the file output method I have set the filename to something.mpeg

The result is, that none of these methods will transfer sound.

The mpeg file can be played back with vlc, but without sound -
The multicast stream can be received, but only video without sound.

The other way round, switching digital video off will transfer the
sound.

What is going wrong - or - is this option not possible at all ?
