As said before, by default, vlc launches the rc interface. Type help to
get a list of commands. Other alternatives are the ncurses interface,
if you compiled it (-I ncurses as command line option ) and the
http interface (-I http, and then use a web browser to connect to
http://ip_of_your_server:8080)
