[vlc] 0.7.1 - no audio on Mac OS X

I pulled down 0.7.1 and was pleased to discover that I can now stream 
shows directly off my ReplayTV hardware using DVArchive. Previously, 
direct playback would stall. However, in the process, I discovered that 
I'm not getting any output out of the 0.7.1 test1 build. I've confirmed 
that the same MPEG files generate full audio when played with the 0.7.0 
release of VLC. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
