[vlc] VLC and rtp vs udp

Hi all.
Is it true that VLC doesn't any packet reordering when reading an rtp stream?
I've read something about that in the forum.
So what are the benefits of streaming with VLC to another VLC using the rtp
protocol (wich is udp transportated, I know) rather than simple udp, for
realtime streaming?
I'm playng with multicast streaming with the "standard" module.
