Hello all,
Thank you for the 0.7.0 release; an excellent start for 2004. Couldn't wait to
try it, but unfortunately I am running into problems compiling.
My box is basically Debian Woody on i686, but with KDE 3.1.4 and some
backports. I was able to successfully compile vlc-0.6.2 on this box using
'sudo debian/rules binary'. Now I am getting an error when compiling 0.7.0 in
the same manner.
The error occurs during the link stage for vlc. The problem seems to be in the
ffmpeg library (I used the new ffmpeg-20040103 from the 0.7.0 release
directory; I also tried ffmpeg-20030813, but that failed as well).
A full log of the build process is attached (the error is, of course, at the
bottom ;-).
I would appreciate your thoughts on the possible cause of this problem.
I can provide additional information if required.
Regards,
Frans Pop
