[vlc] Re: saving file

Hi, thanks for the reply. To make things simple I'll follow avi issue after getting over the problem of having the stream played while saving it. Further, if that's okay let's stick to the command line rather than GUI.
Now, I add --sout-display on the receiver side:
# vlc -vvv udp:@225.4.5.6 --sout-display --sout file/ts:rcvdstr_ts.mpg
it stores the video correctly (I can play it later), but it still has problem playing it while saving it. It just shows a blank screen and the following message scrolls down on the terminal:
main private warning: synchro trashing I (SOME NEGATIVE NUMBER)

About the avi issue : couls you go to view, message, and send us the log
?

It is possible to view a file while saving it : check the "display" box
in the stream output dialog box.
