[vlc] option '--logfile' not implemented?

Hi!

Are the command command line options --logfile and --logmode implemented
in version 0.7.0? Vlc does not write any log messages into the given
file (RH 8.0, Kernel 2.4.20, vlc-0.7.0-1.i386.rpm):

$ vlc --logfile $HOME/test.log --logmode text

Setting the corresponding values in ~/.vlc/vlc doesn't work either.

Is logging not implemented or am I missing some kind of
module/plugin/...?
