You need to edit the files in share/http op vlc. the location of this 
differs per release.
on windows share/http is in the same directory as the vlc application 
itself.
on linux it is usually in /usr/local/vlc/share/http
on macosx it is within the VLC.app package 
(VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/share/http)
