[vlc] Directshow

Hi there,

I want to know if the following is possible:

With vlc it is possible to get a feed from a directshow and to stream 
this to somewhere else.
Can this proces also be reversed somehow?

This should mean that a stream would be published to the directshow 
interface. Other applications could then use this as a device input.

Does anyone know how to do this / if this is possible?

I really need this ...
