[vlc] Re: ASF files

I am not sure if this will help, but here goes.

I would download Divx Doctor, (which is for .avi file fixing), and  
install all of the recommended codecs in the installation instructions  
on the download page.

Maybe this will give you greater compatibility through Quicktime. I am  
not sure if VLC or Windows Media 9 will see these codecs or not, but I  
think it's worth a shot.

I would also download the latest version of the Divx codecs. I think it  
is version 5.1, and the free version should be fine.

Also, there is a thread on the 3ivx forums about asf files on Mac that  
you may want to take a look at:
