[vlc] vlc 0.7.1/winXP/streaming FLAC? (newbie)

Hi

Just started playing with VLC on XP -- With a bit of help from the
streaming wizard, I ended up with

   vlc -vvv test.mp3 :sout=#duplicate{dst=std{access=udp,mux=ts,url=<my
address>:1234}}

as a workable way to stream mp3s over UDP. However when I try the same
thing with a flac file:

   vlc -vvv test.flac :sout=#duplicate{dst=std{access=udp,mux=ts,url=<my
address>:1234}}

i get the log message:

   main error: cannot add this stream
   main error: cannot create packetizer output

... what am i missing (sure its something simple, got google didn't help!)
