Allright, I found the issue.
It was in fact compiled by default but not included in the OpenBSD package 
(because it would cause issues on the macppc platform).
Thanks a lot for the hint (since I did not see the configure option for 
subtitles I was kind of lost).
I appreciated the fast help :)
