[vlc] AVI-files not played

Hi!

First, I really want to congratulate the developers of vlc, as it has by far 
the simples and most straigth-forward interface. The configs are the complete 
opposite, but I guess there will be improvement.

I am using vlc 0.81 with SuSE 9.2. I have other players, such as MPlayer 
installed, but would like to completely switch to vlc.
I cannot get vlc to play some AVI-files correctly. It plays them only for a 
few seconds and completely in green, or just plays the sound but way too 
fast. I got all the codecs needed, as Mplayer does fine. I could not find 
anything in the forums, so should I report a bug?

Second issue is with VCD. When I press next, it does not jump to the next 
track but to the beginning of the first one.
