[vlc] I'd like to see in a new version of VLC

I'd like to see in a new version of VLC:
 A timer--I'm using Ultimate Wireless
<http://www.grandtec.com/ultimatewireless.htm>  to watch videos, avi,
mpg, etc. files that are on my upstairs computer, with VLC playing the
video I hurry downstairs, sometimes tripping a little, to watch the
video on our downstairs living room TV and find I am missing the
beginning of the video.
