Also tried 0.7.2 on Win2k (updated) and with Mozilla 1.7.1 with no
better result. The call is just ignored - not even a message in
teh javascript console.

Note that the vlc plugin dll was manually copied to the Mozilla
plugins directory and the vlc xpt-file was manually copied to the components
directory of Mozilla.

Is there a magic thing that needs to be enabled in vlc ?
