[vlc] will VLC ever be able to play WMV encoded in v.10?

I'm running into more and more .wmv files that
both WMP9 and VLC 0.8.1 can't play on my Mac.

A friend said that these are probably encoded with
WM10, and could also be .drm enabled.

my question: will VLC ever be able to play these files?
