[vlc] no large file support? (vlc stops when writing file above 2G)

With the following arguments:

vlc -v0 http://pyrrhus.apartia.fr:8080 --sout "#duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=file,url="/home/ldm/zobi.mpg"}}"

vlc quits when the file zobi.mpg reaches 2 gigabytes in size. Is large
file support lacking in some parts of vlc?
