[vlc] A question about watching tv via vlc!

Hi,

 

I have a sattelite tv card on my desktop computer and i want to use it with
my laptop too. I have a high speed lan connection between them so all i need
is a program like vlc to communicate with each other and let me watch tv
with my laptop. I saw a section in open menu something like "open from lan"
so i decided to ask you if it is posibal?
