1) Have a look at the proprieties of tour soundcard : the recoding
device should be line in, and the record volume set high enough.

2) Try to force a different samplerate (add :samplerate=44100 or 48000,
or... to your v4l mrl)

3) Try first with VLC as a client to check if it works so

4) Give us more devig info (vlc -vvv)
