[vlc] software do not working

Hi

the software VLC is not working well

I was watching a film and its stop and force quit.
I open it again and only appears in the menus (file, view, window, 
etc.) VLC and the other disappear
I download again and nothing happen

please help me
what can I do for resolve it?

I have Mac OS X 10.3.7
iMac Power PC G5

VLC version 0.8.1
