[vlc] problems envolved during untar the contrib tar ball

Has anybody else encounterd this problem?

I want to compile vlc under MinGW + MSYS, to simplify the problem,
i want to begin with a precompiled tarball, but there
is problem when i untar it with the suggested command or using windows
utility winrar.

The reported error is :
(tar (GNU tar) 1.13.19)

`/usr/win32/lib/wx/config/i586-mingw32msvc-msw-ansi-release-static-2.5'

I have also tried several other version, but they all failed the same.

I really need your help!!!!!!!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated and helpful!!!!
