[vlc] help wiht installing vlc from sources

Greetings,

I am new to the list.  I am trying to install vlc-0.8.2-test2 (from source 
code) I am just at the ./configure stage  and I get the error  in the 
attached file.

The machine runs fedora 4.  Some help would be appreciated.
