[vlc] static compilling

Hello,

I'm trying to statically compile vlc (0.8.1).
With normal (no staitc) compilation, it  works. For static compilation,
I' have added "-static" in the LDFLAGS field of the vlc Makefile.
However, I get a segmentation error at runtime. What else should I do
for a static compilation? I have'nt found any manual that explains it.
