[vlc] Re: subversion can't be checked out

A lot of bugfixes and functional upgrades exist in the
snapshots/subversion/nightly builds, compared to 0.8.1.
VLC really tends to move in a consistently positive path -- the developers
are pretty careful, a lot of cross-checking occurs.

Previously, i downloaded the vlc-0.8.1.tar.gz. And found its ./configure is
very large.  What's the difference of vlc-0.8.1 and every up-to-date
snapshots?  Are these snapshots stable?
