[vlc] Re: Failed with exit status:1 while compiling VLC code

Hi,
Sorry in advance if this is the wrong mailing list.  I saw a thread between Mark Moriarty & Boku with this title &  I was wondering if Boku ever got his problem resolved?  I am encountering the same problem with autom4te & aclocal when I try to build videolan for cygwin on win2k, per guidelines of INSTALL.win32...

I already tried the default script (ie "./bootstrap && CPPFLAGS ...") + Mark's recommended flags "--build=i686-pc-cygwin".  I also tried to glean more useful data via a direct call to "aclocal --verbose -I m4" but no joy.

Error output:

+ aclocal -I m4
