[vlc] Diagnosing vlc crashing

Hi there,

I have some transport streams with H264 ES that vlc-0.8.1 and vlc-0.8.2
will crash when trying to play or stream them.
What should I do to turn on debug messages and logging so that I can
help in diagnosing the problem?
