[vlc] synchronization problem of the server and clients

Hello,
I find that  if the VLC server and the clients are in the local area network, there will be a little delay; while if there is a router between the server and clients the delay becomes hardly bearable and the picture becomes very unsteady in the clients. 
 
 I have increased the caching upto 3000 in both sides. The condition improved but the problem still existed. How can I solve the problem?
