[vlc] help

Hi,
hoping you can help with the following:

op sys WinXP,
h/w: Pentium4 2.40 ghz
The version of VLC you use: 0.8.1
Error:
Each time I attempt to play any dvd via VLC I get the following error
message: "VLC media player has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We
are sorry for the inconvenience."

The videosample in question: occurs with each & every dvd I try!

Would certainly be grateful for some assistance here.
