[vlc] streaming

Hello,
I hav few problems working on this wonderful software.I will enlist them as follows:-
1. With Darwin Streaming Server client can actually see the playlist of the items server has,
    How can we hav the same feature with vlc used as a server?
2. For multicasting  do we need any other setup other than just feeding multicast IP Address.
 
Hope solutions will be send to as soon as possible .
