[vlc] directshow filter + vlc

Hi,
I am compressing audio using a DSP card on windows xp.
The audio gets written to file. When I provide a wav
header with proper parameters to the file, VLC plays
the file. I want to stream the audio to VLC.
What kind of directshow filter does vlc use when it
connects to sound card of windows?
