[vlc] Why can't play audio of MP3 and avi file

Hi,
  I configured vlc 0.8.2 with faad support and the mp4a audio can be played normally, 
  and there is problem for mp3 and avi files, they can play normally, but no audio, why?
  any othre libraries required?
