[vlc] Problems compiling under OS X

I want to be able to use the command-line version of vlc on OS X, so I
checked out the latest version of "vlc-trunk" from svn followed the
instructions here as best I could:

http://developers.videolan.org/vlc/osx-compile.html

Everything goes fine, but at the end of the final "make" process, I get this:

BuildPhase <CopyResources>VLC.bundle
Completed phase <CopyResources> for <CopyResources>VLC.bundle
BuildPhase <LinkWithFrameworksAndLibraries>VLC.bundle
Completed phase <LinkWithFrameworksAndLibraries> for
<LinkWithFrameworksAndLibraries>VLC.bundle
BuildPhase <RezResourceManagerFiles>VLC.bundle
Completed phase <RezResourceManagerFiles> for
<RezResourceManagerFiles>VLC.bundle
Touch /Users/apple/Desktop/vlc-trunk/tmp/extras/MacOSX/build/VLC.bundle
Mkdir /Users/apple/Desktop/vlc-trunk/tmp/extras/MacOSX/build/vlc.build/vlc.build/Objects-normal
Mkdir /Users/apple/Desktop/vlc-trunk/tmp/extras/MacOSX/build/vlc.build/vlc.build/JavaClasses
Mkdir /Users/apple/Desktop/vlc-trunk/tmp/extras/MacOSX/build/vlc.build/vlc.build/DerivedSources
** BUILD SUCCEEDED **
cp: ./tmp/extras/MacOSX/build/Default/VLC.bundle: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [VLC.app] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2

In the archives of the developer list I found a message relating to
this, and I fixed one thing in one of the Makefiles, but I'm still
having the same problem.

Is there an easier way of getting the command-line version of vlc
installed on OS X? It seems like it's a bit easier to set up certain
kinds of network multicast streaming on demand from the command-line
version, at least from the how-to I've seen. If this is what I have to
do to get vlc installed for the command-line, then how do I resolve
the issue above?

advTHANKSance
