[vlc] VLC to play files direct from internet

Dear Sir,

 

I would like to know if it is possible to configure VLC as my default player
on my ibook.

i.e. For example when I click on a link on the internet that streams video,
it automatically plays with VLC, instead of say windows media player.

 

I can't seem to find the answer on any of the forums
