[vlc] how to use vlc inside lan

Hi,

I have a linux box running  with 2 interfaces (eth0 & eth1). Eth0 is
assigned to static IP to connect to internet and  eth1 is connected to
switch to setup LAN. My machine (192.168.1.2) is inside this LAN.
Can anybody help me to configure the linux box so that I can use vlc
client to watch TV  ( vlc udp://@the.ip.of.server )? I've tried
`iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE`  but it still
doesn't work
