[vlc] MOV files from Cameras

Hi 

  I've been testing VLC and found a quirk. My camera (A pentax MX4) creates
movie files in MOV (Quicktime) format. 

They play fine in Quicktime but always crash VLC player.

I'm using VLC 0.8.4 on two windows XP (SP2) systems. One AMD 3500 1G Memory
and the other an HP Centrino laptop. 

Typical error is:

"The instruction at "0x77c46fa3" referenced memory at "0x0124a000". The
memory could not be "written".

 

I have used other software MP4Cam2AVI to process these files into AVI, but
it irks me that VLC crashes. I'm wondering if there is some trivial bug that
could be corrected easily?
