[vlc] VLC Player To Play From an Internet Site?

I downloaded VLC Player 0.8.2 and found it would play a sound file from My 
Documents.  But when I tried to get it to play from an Internet site, so far 
all my attempts have failed.

In trying to play from an Internet site I went to its Network page, and used 
HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS and in the space for a URL I pasted in the 
following...http://www.magnatune.com/genres/classical/

Nothing happened.  I use this URL all the time to get Windows Media Player 
or Real Player  to play.

I do not understand the language of VLC Player, and for that reason I may 
not be able to use it.  the idea of streaming audio is interesting though.  
Do you provide a web site to do that?  Thanks
