[vlc] Saving Settings

I have a WintvGo file in mpeg file format that when I play it the sound is cutting out for about 70 percent of the time.  I found that if I set the Deinterlace to blend, the problem goes away.  I would like to save this setting so I don't have to re-set it each time I open a file.  How do I save this setting?
